Morrisville sits in two counties.
Wake County lists Morrisville among its municipalities, and the Town of Morrisville also appears on Durham County's current tax rate table. Your property tax records should come from the county that actually billed your property.
A mailing address does not settle the question on its own. The U.S. Census Bureau notes that the city name in a mailing address may differ from the legal municipality where a home is located. Our guide to which county sends your property tax bill walks through the nearby towns that cross county lines.
When compensation is more than one paycheck.
A bonus, a mid-year change of employer, or pay described in plan documents can make a familiar return less familiar. Bring the documents that explain the arrangement, not only the year-end forms.
Our page for executives and professionals explains how to separate the annual return from the next compensation decision.

Our guide to state and IRS tax offices explains when a question belongs with an agency and when it belongs in a preparation conversation.
Need more time to file?
An extension to file is not an extension to pay. If a document will not arrive in time, read about extension help and extended returns and raise the payment question before the original deadline.
Check your county's January listing rules.
Pick the county that bills your property to see what it asks you to list each January, when listing closes, and where to ask questions. The check opens on Wake County; switch it if a different county bills your property.
